The home team had to fight for their victory, with the visitors pushing them all the way to the final whistle at Piddle Park. Pershore came out on top thanks to scores from Chris Steele Tommy Hayes, Tom Westby and Dave Oliver, with Oliver converting two.
Pershore were matched on the try count by Norton, with the kicking of Oliver the difference in the end on the score sheet, although Pershore would have wished for a couple of chances to go their way to make the result more comfortable.
The breezy conditions didn’t always suit running rugby, but Pershore tried to play an expansive game and keep the hardy supporters entertained. The team blended well at times, with the senior contingent guiding the new Pershore talent, going well in both attack and defence. The visitors ensured that Pershore didn’t have it all their own way, though, with some equally good phases, rewarded with try and losing bonus points of their own.
Pershore will hope to continue their good form of late when visiting away at Old Wheatleyans in the league next week.
