Pershore’s social xv didn’t have such a good afternoon compared to their first team counter-parts. The socials were missing a few key men, going down to a strong Evesham outfit. The socials were very grateful to several guest players who allowed the fixture to take place, but the net result was more of a scratch team than usual. The well seasoned hands of this older Evesham team were strong.
There was some good showings again from Rory and Patrick Chapman, along with Stuart Rock and Josh Faulkner led the way for the home team. The youngsters are improving with every game. However, with the visitors fielding a very experienced team and blitzing the Pershore defence early on it proved a tough afternoon for the home team.
The second half was slightly better for the Piddle Park crew, with another try saving tackle at the start from Calum Andrews, playing out of position on the wing, and some of the Pershore old hands putting the Evesham team under some pressure towards the end of the second half, but the consolation try could not be found, with the Evesham old boys simply absorbing this pressure.
We look forward to our next scheduled fixture, Upton at home on 20th January 2018.
