The visitors had the upper hand in the set piece for most of the game and put Pershore under pressure early on. It was, however, Pershore who struck first, a break out down the right by Steve Holmes setting up Chris Steele to go over in the left corner. Malvern got back on level terms soon after, with a break away try of their own and took the lead late in the half from a chip and chase. The home team dug deep before the interval, good build up play from Huw Williams and Ashley Wilcox, this time sending Holmes over, for a 12-12 half time score.
The Piddle Park men turned back towards the clubhouse with renewed vigour after the break, playing sensible rugby, keeping the ball away from Malvern’s dominant pack and playing a more expansive game. Coupled with strong defensive work from Mike Godliman, Jacob Smith and Dan & Alex Ludlow, Pershore put their mark on the game and tries from Dave Snell, Liam Charlton, Stef Staveley and two more for Steele, who bagged a second hat-trick in as many games, saw them home comfortably.
