Worcester 3’s 22 v 26 Pershore Socials

First half tries from Liam Charlton and Andy Jenkinson, set Pershore on their way, with some great defensive work keeping Worcester out in the early stages. Both tries came from strong build up play by the forward pack, allowing the backs to exploit gaps in the home teams defence, either side of a Worcester score for a 5-12 half time lead.

After the break Worcester came out strongest and scored early on to cut the deficit to 10-12, but Pershore hit back with another try out wide from Jenkinson, after the pack laid the foundations, then Jacob Smith, barging over from a tap penalty to seemingly put the visitors out of sight, 10-26, Dave Snell with three conversions.

Worcester did not give up though and with Pershore reduced to 13 men through injury, scored two more tries to peg the score back to 22-26, but the Piddle Park men were not to be outdone, with some heroic defending in the final minutes cementing the victory.

Man of the match went to Jacob Smith, adding a big defensive shift to his attacking prowess and score, just pipping Stef Staveley and debutante Adam Morgan, who both had great games.
