Pershore traveled to Chaddesley Corbett RFC on Sunday with a group of 24 young players. The under sevens were split into two teams each team enjoying a training game with the Pershore under eights and a match against Chaddesley Corbett.
Pershore Blue came up against a Chaddesley side smarting from their defeat to the Reds and keen to regain some pride. However it was Pershore who took the initiative with two quick trys from Harry Barnett who was also very active in defense, making several good tags in mid field. Chaddesley replied and by half time Pershore held a 3 - 5 lead with 2 from Logan Kempson and a score in the corner from Miles Fletcher-Haynes after an offload from Amy Oates.
The second half saw Logan make another great run that all led to a try and William Bishop diving over twice, only to be pulled back for 1 with a foot in touch. As the game drew to a close it looked like Pershore would come away with victory but two individual runs from Chaddesley left the final score 8 – 7 in favour of the home side. Logan Kempson was presented with the Sportsmanship Award and Harry Barnett the Attacker of the day.
Both clubs enjoyed a great morning of mini rugby with all the kids displaying big smiles and muddy knees.
