It was a cold, wet and windy Sunday morning when Pershore U7's welcomed Alcester to their temporary flood refuge at the Horticultural College.
The atrocious conditions didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the young side. Both teams set about their task with purpose. Pershore scoring first through Will Kimberlin. Alcester fought back with two quick tries and the lead changed hands on almost every possession. Jack Hurn provided a second score for Pershore after a fine pass from Logan Kempson. A further try from Will and 2 from Miles Fletcher-Hayes left the half time score 5 - 6 to the visitors.
The second half continued in the same vain with Pershore snatching back the lead with 2 quick tries from Jack. Alcester mounted a robust reply and slowly pushed the game out of Pershores reach. The game was played in great spirit and at times was significantly more physical than might be expected from a game of tag. Another try from Jack and one more a piece from Will and Miles left Alcester 10 - 14 victors.
