A strong group of young players traveled to Alcester for the last away game of the season. Divided into two teams with a couple of Pershore volunteers showing good sportsmanship making up the Alcester numbers.
Pershore Blue played two games and gave no quarter to their own volunteering team mates. Game 1 saw Pershore working the ball well and managing to successfully recycle after the tag. By half time they were 1 - 3 ahead. The second half was much the same Pershore finishing 3 - 7 victors. Will Kimberlin lead the scorers with 3 followed by Jack Hurn 2, Harry Barnett and Miles Fletcher-Haynes 1 each.
The return game ended 4 - 8 to Pershore with Will K again leading the scoring with 5, Miles 2 and William Bishop 1.
Pershore Yellow also played a couple of games the first being a close fought battle. Amy Oates playing particularly well as Alcesters borrowed player. Every time I looked up she seemed to be trotting in another try for the opposition. At full time Pershore just managed to secure a 9 - 10 victory. Logan Kempson, Rowan Thomas and Carter Adey all crossing the line. For the second game both sides exchanged players and a fun and friendly battle ensued ending in a 3 - 6 victory for the Pershore Plus group.
The morning was much enjoyed by the young teams who were all pleased to visit another club and appreciated the hospitality on offer. We cannot wait to see the mayhem they cause in 10 or so years time!
