Fabulous U7s play games in very wet conditions

Pershore RFC U7’s entertained Chaddesley Corbett at a semi waterlogged Piddle Park on Sunday. Pershore were happy to welcome some new team members boosting the squad for the morning to 15. Split into 3 teams Pershore set up two pitches whilst one team played the visitors the other two enjoyed training games against each other and then switched so that all had a competitive match.

Pershore Blue the first team up were a mixture of experienced players and new recruits. They worked well with the new players being brought into the game and guided by the more established members. Good tags were made by all and an interception by William Bishop led to Harry Hardisty scoring his first try for the club. William then went onto cross the line himself leaving the visitors 1 try up at half time 2 – 3.

The second half started well with Charlie Smith and Harry Orton working hard on defence. Jack Bulbulia scored twice in quick succession. Pershore were now getting the upper hand, sadly the game was drawn to a close before their superiority could fully pay off. A last try from William left the final score 5 each after a good run by all.

There were two more games in even wetter conditions (as the water continued to rise). Pershore Red were 3 – 4 down with scores from Rowan Thomas, Josh Young and Nelson Amphlet.
